Engine-Modules Advanced MetaSearch main pack usually comes with a number of engine-modules (data-sources). You can (optionally) add more engine-modules any time if necessary. Adding an additional engine takes only a few seconds. Just upload and it is automatically added to your Advanced MetaSearch Engine. No need to update or modify any program file or change anything else. New engine-modules are made available from time to time. For the current list or to inquire about a new one, please contact us. Available general
web-search modules include:
MSN, Lycos, Altavista, Ask, GigaBlast, WiseNut, Yahoo, Hotbot, Google,
Fast (AllTheWeb), Looksmart, Open-Directory (ODP),
AOL, Overture, About.com etc.
What is an engine-module (data-source)?An Engine-Module (data-source) is a tiny file that fetches the search results from a remote (or local) site (or searchable database) associated with it. The search results are retrieved using open HTTP protocol similar to that of a web browser. In our metasearch solutions all engine-modules are totally detached from the core program/application and can be added/replaced/removed any time without any service interruption. |
