Safe Search

Your Virtual Search Engine has built-in support for Safe Searching. You can actually run your engine in 2 (two) different modes simultaneously: in Open Search mode (search for anything) OR Safe Searching mode (Exclude Adult Rated Keywords from the real search). This way you can offer safe searching from some sections of your site while offering open (non-restrictive) search from other parts. You do not need to make ANY changes on your Search-Box design.

If you have a Children site (or a Children section in your site) you can easily run a 'Safe Search Engine' in the children section and an 'Open Search Engine' in other parts of your site. Both engines can run from the same account and you can assign different designs (Templates) for each them.
NOTE: assigning different Templates is available to fee based (paid) engines only.

So, you can run your engine in 2 different modes with different designs and layout.

By default, all search engines are configured to 'Open Search' mode, i.e. will search for anything asked.

Usage: Safe Searching is readily available to use. All you need to do is add an additional Form-Input named ss with a Value of s to your Search-Box/es from where you want to Safe Search. Usually this new Form-Input is passed as a HIDDEN input. However, you can use 'Checkbox', 'Radio Button' or any other input-types if necessary. See below:

<input type="hidden" name="ss" value="s">
(Presence of this Form-Input ss will invoke a Safe Search; otherwise it will be an usual Open Search without any restriction)
