Live-Search (Engine-Select) Addon

With this add-on you can add Selectable Engine interface, optional Javascript based dynamic search status, fully customizable stat reporting, Stepping-Search etc. to your current Advanced MetaSearch Engine. By default, your search engine maintains a 'Pre-Selected' interface (more like a major search engine) where visitors cannot choose target engine-modules.

There are a number of significant reasons why you might want to acquire this add-on:

1. You find the selectable interface to be more appropriate for your
site and want to add some latest and dynamic features on your search engine. You can still use the pre-selected interface.

2. You want your visitors to have more control while using your search engine. They can choose the engines, watch the dynamic Javascript based status generation (javascript can be switched off if desired), dynamic engine-table generation, fully customizable reporting.

3. Twin interface. You can use the default 'Pre-Selected' interface
in some places and the 'User-Selectable' interface in other places
on your website. The script will support both interfaces at the
same time.

4. Search-Report. This add-on can generate report on 7 following items. You show as many of these items. You can also choose to exclude any type of (or ALL) from ANY Specialty-Search (Web, Auction, MP3, Job, FTP, News etc.).

(i) - Total number (raw) of results fetched so far.
(ii) - List of Engine-modules searched so far.
(iii) - Remaining Engine-Modules (if left)
(iv) - Engine-Modules queried this time.
(v) - List of Successful Engine-Modules (got results)
(vi) - List of Engine-Modules returning partial data (may not return any result).
(vii) - List of Engine-Modules times-out this time.

5. Stepping-Search - You can choose how many major engines to search in one go. This feature is extreamly handy if you are on a strained server BUT still want to run lots of engine-modules OR you have a quicker than expected traffic-growth and need to limit the load on your server. On the result pages it creates a Search button to continue searching with remaining engines. All the results from all engines will be combined and presented. This UNIQUE feature allows you to add as many engines you want and offer a Robust searching without exploding your server. A number of other optional parameters enables you to maintain Stepping-Search functionality with more control. Stepping-Search usually increases page-views and average visit-period (amount of time visitor spends on your site) by Huge margin.

6. Engine Order - You can optionally set your own order how results will be listed. By default results are shown as received from major engines and each time the order can be different (more importantly when using stepping search). You can set your own order (Example: Yahoo Altavista Hotbot Excite Webcrawler) and results from these engines will tend to appear first and in the same order.
NOTE: This feature is not strictly implemented on this version. Although it will tend to maintain the order how search queries will be distributed; but cannot guarantee that in final results it will remain as such.

'Engine-Select' Add-On Package: The add-on itself with instructions, examples and sample images for Javascript based dynamic table and stat generation. Comes as almost ready-to-serve basis. Usually takes around 30 minutes to add and initially put into service. You can set your own image sets and customize every details. You can optionally switch it off (in full or the javascript; it can still generate at least the engine-table without javascripting part).
